Inspirational Travel Blogs to follow

With Valentines Day just around the corner I’m feeling the love and wanting to share it with all of you. I want to showcase the blogs that I turn to for inspiration, especially on days when I’m stuck and wondering, “Is this even possible?” These individuals and families have risen up to the challenge of being nomands and experienced a life that is worth following. Check out my top inspirational blogs that I follow, and maybe you’ll want to follow them to!

  1. Travel With Bender

Travel With Bender is a blog chronicling the “life of nomadic travel” of an Australian family of four, Erin, Josh, and their two children. Together, they have visited 60+ countries since 2012 and show no sign of stopping. Their “Top 69 Photos of 2015” looks back upon their last year or travel, highlighting wonderful, fun, or thought-provoking moments in a series of photographs take along the way.

As new parents, this Canadian duo writes candidly about places they have been, places they would like to return to, and what they did while visiting these places. They feature family traveling advice and trip ideas for newbies and seasoned adventurers alike.

Heather is dedicated to living life to its fullest with her family and her journey is immortalized on her blog, Globetrotting Mama. An award-winning travel writer, this “mama” took her family around the world in a single year and chronicled their adventures. She was featured on our blog as an inspirational woman of the month in 2015. On her site she talks about destinations, events and activities, and how to travel when you can’t afford to. Join her and her family in their trek across 6 continents and 29 countries in 365 days.

Vancouver-based, Marc Smith started up this blog to point out hospitality hotspots for the curious traveller. Focusing on what to do, where to eat, and where to stay, 30 Day Adventure is a resource for anyone looking to incorporate a bit more adventure in their life. The project started as a Vancouver-based challenge to do something new every day for 30 days but has now expanded to places like Portland, Hawaii, San Francisco, and London (England).

This family of four is all about travel experiences and family fun. Run by Ricky and Anne Shetty, this blog speaks to families who want to incorporate travel and adventure into their parenting style. Together, this nomadic family has visited over 50 countries and counting. This year they are having a baby and taking off for a year of travel… should be interesting to follow along with!

Adventure, inspiration, and a bucket list—Jami Savage’s Adventure Awaits blog seeks to enlighten those looking to incorporate a little adventure in their solo and family life. Her POV hinges on the intersection of passion, environmental stewardship, and inspirational stories (from herself and others). Her bucket list is truly incredible and inspiring and the interactive map on the home page lets you watch countries “colour in” as she knocks them off the list.

This year will bring us across Western Canada on what we hope to be another epic road trip as well as I’ll be partnering with Run like a Girl and attending one of their Adventure Camps in Costa Rica!
