Cupcake Decorating Station
If you’ve ever been to my campsite on a special occasion you’ll know that I’ll probably have a decorating station of some sort set up! Bake up some cupcakes prior to your camping trip and bring a tub of icing and set up a cupcake decorating station for the kids. Sprinkles, red and white M&M’s, jelly maple leafs, and jelly beans are all great ways to give your cupcakes a Canadian feel.
Popcorn Candy Station
Another hit with the kids is to set up a popcorn candy station. Have the kids fill up their bags with popcorn and top them up with Canadian themed candy! This is a sweet treat that the adults love to indulge in around the campfire as well!
Inukshuks
A healthier treat that can easily be prepared at the campsite is a fruit Inukshuk station. Cut up the pieces into building block style strips and let the kids use toothpicks to design their own inukshuks.
Chocolate Covered Pretzels
Swap out milk chocolate for white and red chocolate and melt the chocolate on your camp stove. Dip the pretzels into the chocolate and for an extra sparkle, add red sprinkles!
Maple Leaf Cookies
Similar to a vanilla Girl Guide cookie, these maple leaf cookies are the perfect addition to any Canada Day themed party. Add some extra flavour and colour and dip them in red and white chocolate!
Red and White Jello
Jello cups filled with red jello and topped with whip cream are a treat for kids of all ages! You can make these more of an adult friendly treat by adding certain ingredients. I’ll leave it to you to google “jello shooters” as this is a family channel 🙂
Maple Leaf Watermelon Sticks
A cookie cutter, some watermelon, and some marshmallows and strawberries are all you need to make these super cute Canadian themed sticks. These are perfect for the campsite as little hands are sure to get sticky!
Chocolate Covered Strawberries
A guaranteed crowd pleaser, chocolate covered strawberries are a must! I’ve always thought about bringing a chocolate fondue pot to a campsite for a party… hmm, maybe I do have another idea for Canada Day celebrations!
Mom Advice: Get the kids as involved in the party planning and stations as possible. As you can tell from my less than Pinterest perfect images, I’m not a professional chef or baker, but the process of creating these items with my kids is what they remember. They also love to transition into being the campsite host and setting up their own popcorn candy or cupcake decorating station.
